Matt Gabler is in his first term as state Representative for the 75th Legislative District. He is a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, having been born and raised in DuBois.
Matt graduated as the Valedictorian from DuBois Central Catholic High School, where he was student council president. He attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg on a four-year Army R.O.T.C. scholarship. Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2006 with a minor in Physics.
Upon graduation, Matt’s commitment to serving others continued through his being commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is now a 1st Lieutenant and Commander of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 424th Medical Logistics Battalion.
Matt is a former research analyst in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and has seen firsthand what works, and doesn’t work, in state government. His decision to run for office came from a desire to effect real change as an elected leader.
Matt ran on a positive platform focused on reforming state government so it works again for all of the working families, seniors and children of his district. His constituents’ needs are first and foremost, needs such as good-paying jobs, property and income tax relief and protection of conservative values.
It is Matt’s wish that the burden of increased state spending and state debt not be placed on the backs of hardworking taxpayers. He will fight for the end of the reckless borrowing that has been a hallmark of the current administration.
Matt is pro-life and pro-family, and is a strong advocate for the right to bear arms thanks to the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. He supports the values of rural Pennsylvanians because he is one of them. Matt Gabler will fight the good fight for the people of Elk and northwest Clearfield counties in respecting and honoring their beliefs.
During Matt's first term in office, he is a member of the House committees on Environmental Resources and Energy, Intergovernmental Affairs and State Government.
